For well over two years, Senator Kemp Hannon has turned his back on the desperate pleas of thousands of patients with chronic Lyme disease and has refused to offer any help whatsoever!

He is now refusing to meet with us in- person to discuss Bill # A11330, the Gottfried/ Lentol/ Miller/ Mayersohn Reform Bill. The bill would give due process rights to physicians in dealing with the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC). Insurance companies would no longer have the luxury of using an unrestrained OPMC to persecute the doctors who treat chronic Lyme disease.

Following two recent NYS Assembly hearings, the Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution that: "insurance companies and the Office of Professional Medical Conduct cease and desist from targeting physicians" who treat chronic Lyme disease. 

WE MUST NOW GET PASSAGE OF BILL # A11330 SO THAT THE INTENTION OF THIS RESOLUTION CAN BE PROTECTED BY LAW.

Senator Hannon is Chairman of the Senate Health Committee. As Chairman, if he does not support this bill, Hannon can destroy our chances of protecting our access to medical care. We must show him that we will not tolerate his passivity in an issue so necessary for our survival.

BRING: Most important is that you bring yourself. If you can, bring friends, family and signs (without sticks) which either urge that Senator Hannon pass A11330 or shame him for ignoring the pleas of so many desperately ill people.  If you are a medical professional, it would be great if you could come in your uniform or otherwise indicate your profession. 

Chronic Lyme patients have had to fight very hard for more than two years to protect our access to medical care. If Bill # A11330, the Gottfried/ Lentol/ Miller/ Mayersohn Reform Bill, is not passed during this legislative session, by mid-June, we could be faced with OPMC harassment of our doctors all over again.
