Hi folks,
With two bills before the NYS legislature aimed at protecting the LLMDs from persecution by the NYS Office of Professional Medical Conduct, we New Yorkers need to get up to Albany to lobby our senators. (For background information, please see www.lymeinfo.net) Those of you who attended the last Lobby Day in March of 2001 know how effective and energizing this kind of action can be.
Although visits to the legislators' local offices are very important, a group traveling to Albany and meeting the legislative staff there has the special impact that we will need.
So we are organizing a group to go up there on MAY 6TH to lobby. Please sign up to be part of this group.
As with the previous Lobby Day, we will organize into groups of 3-5 people to meet with a senator or his/her aide. Once people are signed up to attend, we will discuss what points to make and furnish you with whatever materials you need to take with you. Even if you are uncomfortable about speaking with the senator or his staff, your presence is important to show support for the person who does do the speaking.
NEW YORKERS, PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING NOW:
1) Please find out who your New York State senator is by going to
http://map01.elections.state.ny.us/boe/main.asp
Choose address and choose State Senators and put your address in where
requested.
2) If you are able to attend Lobby Day, please let me know ASAP by emailing me at ellenluba@yahoo.com . Please let me know:
THANKS TO ALL:
Thanks to everyone who has fought with us this far and to those of you
joining with us now at this key point.
